h&m dress worn as a shirt swapped with girl and closet // belt + sunnies from barefoot contessa // aritzia silk shorts // joe fresh shoes and nail polish // plum purse + jewellery // silk scarf from fine finds
the darling veronika of girl and closet, cee of coco and vera, louise of fifth sparrow, and i did a clothing swap last month and i am finally getting around to posting an outfit featuring my borrowed item! this was my very first swap, but i can really understand the appeal, especially as a fashion blogger. it’s the satisfaction of shopping without actually having to spend any money. it’s really fun to see how the other girls style your pieces and helpful with your own outfits because you’re wearing something that’s not from your own closet!
i really look forward to more clothing exchanges and hope to one day organize a clothing sale. i have boxes and boxes full of clothing that i want to sell. and i think my mom is about to throw it all out if i don’t organize and get rid of it soon 😛 have you ever hosted a clothing swap or clothing sale? any advice?
I'm definitely putting the word out about having one in Winnipeg! Love that belt with that top – at first i thought it was all one piece!

Love how you styled that dress!

Love that dress as a top! It's so sweet! I've never done a clothing swap, I should try that sometime. I usually just donate my clothes or try to sell them on craigslist haha.

Beautiful!! I'm loving that you styled the dress with shorts, what a beautiful look and the hair is divine as well! Thanks for the inspiration, you are seriously such a beauty. Hope your day is a fab one. xo veronika
I can only imagine all the fun the swap must've been, I mean all you fab ladies have amazing closets, love the fact you wore dress as a top, super pretty!

Oooh, love how you style Veronika's dress – especially with that cute belt! I usually sell my clothes on Craigslist and it goes fairly well. You could try eBay too.

Oooh, hurray for your first swapped piece! I love the way you wore Veronika's dress- and can I ask for tips on wearing a shirt as a dress? I can never seem to manage it without looking lumpy 🙁 Also, are those the Joe Fresh colours I spy on your fingers and toenails? Both beautiful finds! We definitely need to get the clothing sale going soon… I'm happy to help with anything, but I don't have any bright new ideas, sadly.
xox,

Whoa, that's a dress? would you considering posting a picture of just the dress? How did you tuck it into those shorts without it looking all bunchy? It looks amazing!
Alicia!!! Whatever you've been doing you look amazing. Now as for the outfit, I absolutely love it – the way you styled the dress into a top and then accessorized it is genius. All around gorgeous!

NEW OUTFIT POST: A Touch Of Pink
no doubt about it, you are killin' the street stroll with this mix – wizard move to tuck in veronika's dress like that! i love it Alicia, plus your pretty polish choices. i just adore seeing how you girls are re-styling the share-arounds.
you're beautiful – truly stunning effect. ♥
I love the styling you did her Alicia- the soft pink is so pretty against the bold black and wearing a dress as a top is one of my favourite ways to reinvent a piece too!
It was so lovely to see you tonight, although we didn't really get to chat! Looking forward to seeing you again soon.

I adore this entire look on you! the dress turned into a shirt is perfection and those silky shorts look fan-freakin-tastic. And those shoes are amazing, can't believe they are from Joe.
Love the swapping of clothes too! I'll have to try that with someone some day!
so pretty. x hivenn
Such a great interpretation of Veronika's dress! It looks so good as a shirt, especially with that darling belt!
Hope you had a great weekend away, hopefully see you soon! xx
My sister and i have had a few successful clothing sales! Not right in Vancouver, but in the lower mainland 🙂
The biggest thing is to advertise! put up signs around your neighborhood and nearby bus stops ect.
Use facebook event groups to your advantage.
and remember what audience most of your clothes are for. Your age? a bit younger (if it is your old stuff) ect.
make sure to advertise major brands to get people to your sale!
make sure to advertise on your blog as well 🙂
that way i can come! xo
