At the end of our London/Ireland adventure in Feb, Alex and I had two and a half more days to spend in London before flying back home. I know, the best, right?! So, we caught the 6 am flight form Cork to an airport in the city that neither of us had even heard of. It was my very first Ryanair experience, and quite honestly, hopefully my last. I was actually thankful for the unnaturally early flight time, as we were able to just glide through the experience in a zombie-like state. We took the tube back to Natasha’s place (Alex’s lovely sister) because she was kind enough to let us each store our large suitcases there. We grabbed a quick breakfast and made our way to our last hotel, Taj 51 Buckingham Gate. So there we are, completely disheveled, and our car pulls up to THE most glorious courtyard. I knew right away that this wasn’t going to be your average London stay.
We were greeted by every single person in the lobby and made our way to the front desk. Despite our rather casual appearance, everyone welcomed us with open arms and made us feel comfortable. We were then escorted up to our private suite (upgraded upon our arrival as well, if that’s not a life win, I don’t know what is) where it took every fibre of our being not to scream and jump up and down while crying and holding each other in our arms. The second we had the place to ourselves we did a FULL Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman freak out. For two nights, we had the most glorious two bedroom suite, complete with laundry, our own kitchen, and a delightful separate dining/living room. We slept like darling little angels in that fluffy bed, and let me tell you, Alexandra and I live the luxurious life well! The location was incredibly central, just a hop, skip, and a jump from Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, a bunch of tube stations, some shopping. Their food was also incredible. Breakfast included, as well as a complimentary beverage at happy hour, and our afternoon tea service was amazing. Enough gushing though, it’s time for you to see it all for yourself! Pics from our stay and a travel vlog are below – enjoy!
At the VERY least, you must visit Taj 51 while you’re in London. Their courtyard is a gorgeous spot to take pics while you’re near Buckingham Palace. And if you have the time, their Alice in Wonderland themed afternoon tea was a highlight of our trip (and at quite a reasonable price point). If you’re still not convinced, below is a little video blog of our time at Taj 51 Buckingham Gate because we loved it THAT much!
Special thanks to Taj 51 Buckingham Gate for a spectacular London experience, we cannot wait to be back again soon!
These sound lovely, and they look so cute, so might add these to my list 🙂 xx
