I had a few people comment on how cute my skirt was the other day, and I just had to share this little hack with you! It’s not limited to a skirt either, I do this with midi length and maxi jersey dresses as well. Just look at the difference in silhouette! The before is a bit frumpy and quite square for my body shape. The after really highlights curves, flatters the figure and it’s SO simple that you can achieve the look too.
It’s as simple as gathering the fabric at your mid thigh and twisting it into a bun shape (much like you would in your hair, but be sure to play around with this and make sure it’s the most flattering point and a presentable looking gather). Then, you simply tie this with a hair elastic, et voila! Don’t you love how it creates a natural drape in the fabric as it hangs down?! Sure, this isn’t exactly the most secure method, but it’s very easy to re-do while on the go if it unravels. Don’t worry if it takes you a couple tries to get it right. Once you do, it can help add life to tired old pieces in your closet. Enjoy!
