I was nervous to do a photo shoot with my new Nikon D3000, since I only just purchased the camera and haven’t mastered the settings, angles, colours, etc. But with Paula and Arlen’s engagement photo shoot there wasn’t much pressure because they are already getting engagement photos from their wedding photographer. Their professional photographer is very traditional though, and they wanted some other photos with more of an urban feel.
The weather on Granville Island – Sunday June 13th 2010 was PERFECT for a photo shoot! The skies were grey, but bright with no rain for the entire morning we were out shooting. The sun came out two hours into our photo session, which made for the perfect time to do a little outfit change.
Honestly, it makes me sooo happy to take beautiful pictures of people and especially when it helps out my friends. I had so much fun, I am seriously jealous of people who take photos for a living.
Here are some of my favourites out of the 800 photos we took hahaha.
Enjoy!
Snow Patrol – Just Say Yes
Great pictures! 🙂 You did an awesome job! KEEP IT UP!
amazing photos alicia! you are so talented. my favourite is the one in black and white where they are looking over their shoulders. so candid and adorable!!
Thank you SO much girls! Krista…YOU are a talented photographer so for you to say that about me is the highest honour! *bows down* We're Not Worthy…We're Not Worthy!!! 🙂
i was at granville island on sunday! it's too bad that we didn't run into each other, but it looks like you had fun on your photoshoot! i absolutely adore the ones taken inside the public market. i love the public market. also love that last one as well; perfection! super cute photos overall 🙂
Love these… now I just have to get a fiance and move to Canada and I can hire you to do mine! 😉
Especially adore the last photo — made me smile and I don't even know the couple!
I love the one of them on the slides, and the one after that with just their bodies and hand holding. So cute! You did such a good job lady!
They turned out amazingly — if that's what your photos look like when you're learning to use the camera, I can't wait to see what they look like when you've mastered it.

Wow, that picture of the ring on the flower is awesome.
GJ, you'd be surprised how much so called "talent" is just he equipment that these professionals are using!
Also… do you want to get a player on your page (kinda like mine) instead of just listing a song at the end?
Thanks again everyone, I'm SO glad you all like them. Nicole, too bad we didn't run into eachother! Shayna, sounds like a simple enough plan 😉
Mike I would LOVE if you could help me put the music player on…I'm so clueless!
