I was browsing Pinterest the other day for some casual outfit inspiration. The search results provided me with a collection of images featuring tall modelesque blondes with really slim legs. This ‘inspiration’ left me feeling discouraged to say the least. When I put on skinny jeans and sneakers, the shape is quite different from these girls and I started to wonder if this was something I could “pull off”. I was so angry at myself for even considering such a thing and decided that a casual look warranted an entire blog post because I have curves and can still *gasp* wear flats and skinny jeans AND live to tell the tale. Do you ever feel like your size/shape is misrepresented online? Where do you source curvy outfit inspiration? I’d love to know! xo
I source inspiration from the very lovely you! Like me, you have curves and live in Canada – fashion blogs that hit both of these crucial points are few and far between! I'm glad I found this one 🙂
Wow! Thank you so much for being here – means everything. There are so many of us of all sizes with curves, I hope we can find get even more representation in the media beyond the Kardashians lol.
I too find my inspiration here! Many years ago you inspired me to buy a sequin skirt after you styled one amazingly and I thought 'ahh i could do that too!'. I agree with how difficult it is to find curvy inspiration. I'm not plus size, and don't suit a lot of the super skinny styles either. I wish there were more stylish 'regular' shaped bloggers that I knew about! 🙂
Sadie, you are so sweet. Thank you so much for reading and following, it means so much! It really is so frustrating being in between two very vague/extreme looks that seem to be represented in the world of fashion these days. I completely agree that I wish there were more 'average' sized bloggers around. I'll be sure to send over any I find and thanks again for leaving a comment xo
I have this same problem exactly! The other day I was looking on Pinterest for some summer outfit inspiration and all I found was skinny girls wearing cut offs and crop tops – and generally nothing I could recreate without feeling super exposed and uncomfortable. Even when I look at online stores, I can only find very short shorts which I don't like wearing because I don't have a thigh gap and it makes it uncomfortable….or then this season's longer option is culottes and I don't know if those are so great for my style. Basically, I find summer the hardest to dress for out of the seasons and there is pretty much no inspiration online, even though there are thousands of girls that have a similar body shape to me out there. So yeah, I often see an outfit I love but know there's no way I could pull it off. Ahhh!
Kat, I really couldn't agree more! While online shopping, I feel like 1 out of every 50 styles would work on my body type, especially when it comes to summer styles. I mean, in one way it helps my bank account but the lack of selection/representation is very discouraging. I really want to help change this! As you stated, there are SO many women of all sizes we need to stop putting emphasis on one particular look! Thanks for leaving a comment, power in numbers my friend xoxo
This is a great look! I love how the red lip just makes it look all pulled together 🙂

Thank you so much, Liz xo
I hear you Alicia. It's very frustrating. Girl with Curves is good, http://girlwithcurves.com, but there are not many options for us. So you better keep it up! xx
