There’s a lovely little story behind this suede jacket. I was hopped up on cold meds, sweating and dizzy, navigating my way through the basement level Nordstrom Rack in Seattle. Wandering the aisles, I stumbled upon this jacket and somehow mustered the strength to try it on. A while later, Adam found me and payed for our items. My mind was so cloudy, that I actually forgot about the purchase until three days later. It was a wonderful surprise, though. Good to know that despite how out of it I was, I still managed to stay on track with my fall shopping must-haves. Priorities = in order!

I’m so happy that it’s Tuesday but technically a Monday because of Canadian Thanksgiving. A shorter workweek was much needed and somehow I was actually prepared for the week? I’m in total Martha Stewart mode and cleaning the house and meal planning for a little dinner we’re hosting tonight. Also, just need to get back into some better meal prep habits in general. Spent this morning cleaning out the fridge, which is often a shocking indication of how quickly time flies (that expired back in 2013?!), but also a great way to make room for pre cooked/chopped ingredients. Don’t mind putting additional time in for dinners, but I’m all about simplifying breakfast/lunch, otherwise I’ll go for something unhealthier that seems easier to make in the moment.
I’d say today’s motivation is thanks to this glorious sunshine, and a long weekend full of QT with friends and family. On Friday I left for Sparkling Hill with two of my best girlfriends where we hit peak levels of relaxation. I had a bath, finished a book, went to the spa for a massage, utilized the pool/hot tub, did a yoga class, went on a nice hike, and squeezed in a little nap here and there. It was just perfect! Then, Adam and I spent the rest of the weekend hanging out with family and ate enough to encourage me to take Reggie on an extra long walk/run today and want to make over the contents of our kitchen! Hope you all had a lovely weekend as well xo
