Deck Your Closet was a great success and I want to thank every single person who sponsored the event, helped out the day of, showed up to do some serious shopping, and of course, to my fellow members of The Style Common for putting in so many hours of hard work and planning. The fact that we somehow threw this together in about 5 weeks is incredible, and a true testament to the talent and drive Jen P., Alex, and Jen T. all posses. Would also like to say a BIG thanks to The Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver for letting us host the event in your beautiful Seasons room. It was the perfect venue.
I think that many people don’t know what to expect at these clothing sales. They often explain to me the day-of that they’re just floored by the quality of the event and of course, of the killer prices of the clothing. Hearing such positive feedback makes me so happy and proud to be part of such an awesome local community.
If you missed this shopping event, not to worry! We’ll be having our annual Spring Vancouver Blogger Sale again in March. More info coming your way in the new year! Thanks again to everyone involved in Deck Your Closet. What a fun, memorable day! xo

a few weeks ago, i attended a press conference announcing that fashion’s night out is finally coming to this wonderful city! vancouver celebrated in style at the shanghri-la hotel with appies, cocktails and a beautiful patio fashion show showcasing local designer jason matlo’s fall/winter ’12 collection. very excited for more details of the september 6th event to unravel AND that i got a sweet shout out from FASHION magazine about the event! look how close my name is to carly pope’s. was a huge fan of ‘popular’ back in the late 90’s!
also, congratulations to aimee and joey for each winning a loving spoon! will be emailing you tonight with details 🙂 thanks to everyone who entered the giveaway. have tons of awesome things up for grabs this summer, stay tuned!
adam and i have a list of local communities to explore and first up was beautiful steveston. spent good friday shopping, eating, walking along the boardwalk, and of course, taking pictures! here’s a few of the highlights of the day, including our favourite new spots. do you have any favourite things to do in steveston?
our fav steveston shopping was at violet hill boutique, steve’s board shop , and nakaido gifts .

this quesadilla from cimona cafe was seriously filling, could have been shared! packed full of vegetable goodies like squash. definitely recommend for cheap, casual eats!
how could we go an entire day without a caffeine hit? we’d heard lots of great things about rocanini coffee roasters and the hype is all true!
easter treats! a coconut cupcake from bell’s bake shop .
and since i dragged him into this online mess that is social media, i must mention that adam is finally on twitter! follow him @madadub if you’d like funny tweets and the possibility of embarrassing photos of me. no seriously…
during the fashion blogger sale, i didn’t get a chance to take many pictures which has been making it difficult to post about it. i would, however, like to share this video that alexandra put together. it gives you a general idea of what the crazy fun day was like.
it’s also important to check out what others are saying about the sale from lovelies like pigeon designs, soy confessions, prairie girl in the city, and nina on the moon! thank you again to everyone who helped out, can’t wait for the next one!
