London Fashion Week

March 23, 2016

london street style, alicia fashionista, curvy fashion blogger, spring style london, shoeme.ca review, kat maconie shoes, best stylish travel blog

I really wasn’t sure how to style my culottes past one basic look.  And when I tried this combo, I didn’t  think that I’d be able to pull off this whole chunky sweater with loose pants that kind of look like a skirt and are hemmed at what I would consider to actually be the least flatter spot on my calves.  But hey, we all surprise ourselves sometimes, right?!

Six Star Style In London

March 7, 2016

tedbaker08

I fell in love with Ted Baker on my very first trip across the pond.  I remember walking into their store and gasping over the femme floral prints and bold bright hues.  I’d tried on a classic trench coat that absolutely stole my heart and ended up leaving with a floor length large flower print dress – my very first ‘Ted-to-toe’ look.  Seven years later, being able to partner with Ted Baker on our recent London adventure was beyond a dream come true! Not only did we get to rock brand new Spring 2016 Six Star Style looks, we got THE royal Ted Baker treatment!  Read on to hear all about how Alexandra and I spent a day in London with the one and only, Ted Baker.

london street style, alicia fashionista, best vancouver fashion blog, what to do in london 2016

I know that I shouldn’t be in the hotel room wrapped up in this robe, hair still wet, while the world and endless opportunity is passing by, but alas, here I am writing you.  Sight seeing can wait another 20 minutes.  We’re only a few days in, but I already have that fire inside my soul that only travel can ignite.  And something about London is different this time.  I can’t quite explain it, but it feels like I’m seeing the city from an entirely different perspective.  It’s drawing me in and I just feel like I need more time to get to know it a bit better.  Wait, am I starting a relationship with London?!?  This is major.

24 Hours In Florence

February 3, 2016

24 hours in florence, florence italy, honeymoon in italy, what to do in florence, should i go to see florence, best food in florence, where to eat in florence italy, alicia fashionista, best canadian travel blog

Truthfully, Florence didn’t even make our original itinerary.  It was only added later on, when we ran our trip plans by people and they gasped in shock at the fact that we were skipping over their beloved Firenze.  It was a simple addition, we just shed one night off our Venice stay and opted for a quick 24 hours in Florence.  I really did feel a bit better about adding a brief glimpse of Tuscany to our schedule, and spoiler alert!  Everyone was right, Florence is a must.

Dine Out Vancouver

January 8, 2016

Photo by To Vogue Or Bust taken at Chambar on Abbott Street in Gastown (SPOILER ALERT: It’s one of my Dine Out Festival Picks)

We’re 8 days in, and this is finally my first post of the year.  But, I mean, if there’s one thing that could break my silence, it’s to share my best kept Vancouver dining secrets.  Well, probably not so secret in the day and age of Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Snapchat, Tumblr, Yelp, Trip Advisor, Zomato, etc. etc., but my favourites nonetheless.

The lovely team at Yellow Pages asked me to narrow down my top 10 restaurant picks for Dine Out Vancouver 2016.  I tried my best to cover places all over the city and at different price points.  Being vegetarian, I even asked a few friends for recommended dishes that contain meat or seafood!  Any fellow veggies out there, I did throw in some of my go-to vegetarian friendly choices in there as well.

Let’s not waste any more time.  Click HERE to check out my top 10 picks, and if you’re wanting to make your Dine Out 2016 reservations, I would definitely recommend that you do so NOW.  Word on the street is that they’re already filling up!

Christmas On Grouse

December 24, 2015

grouse mountain, north shore mountains, what to do on grouse

Hands down, the best decision I’ve made so far this holiday season.  To Vogue Or Bust (I promise I use her first name in real life…) and I went up to Grouse Mountain for a morning chock full of Christmas fun.  So much to do, so much to see, and we didn’t even ski!  Sorry for the rhyme, the holiday spirit is strong with me today, my friends.

Capital One Aspire Travel Rewards

December 16, 2015

capital one aspire travel rewards, how to travel more, best travel blog

You guys, I have the travel bug in a major way.  My recent time in Italy has completely ruined me and now all I can think about is how to catch a flight and see the world!  I am, of course, faced with the usual unbalance of having the same amount of disposable income, but a greater desire to spend money on travel.  There just might be a solution though!  I was very recently introduced to the beautiful concept of travel rewards cards, and the idea is so simple.  So beneficial.  So adult.  Anything that provides benefits to money that would be spent anyway, seems like a no brainer.
