I was having major blanket scarf FOMO until one lucky rainy day a few weeks ago. I’m currently sans car because it needs to be fixed and I know it’s going to cost an arm and possibly a leg, so I’ve avoided taking it into the shop. This has, unfortunately, also caused a lot of unnecessary chaos in my life because I now have to walk/transit/cab wherever I need to go. It’s a real indication of how spoiled I’ve always been with such convenient transpiration. On this particular Raincouver afternoon I was not dressed for the cold and wet weather and was definitely suffering. It was the kind of bone chilling cold that even a Starbucks latte couldn’t warm. I happened to wander into a boutique while waiting for my bus and there was this delightful blanket scarf. Plaid on one side and herringbone on the other, it’s reversible and super cozy! I’m so glad I stumbled on it because not only did it warm me up on that cold fall day, but I’ve been wearing it non-stop ever since. I mean, it’s half scarf and half blanket. It’s the best fall trend in a long time – amiright?!

I don’t remember what it’s like to not have to wear a minimum of three layers. It was literally so hot when we took these photos in Kauai that I could barely get this dress on. I actually couldn’t wear my hair down because it would stick to my arms. And now, it’s below zero – ohhhh winter, how you toy with us. I have admittedly also hesitated to post these pics because I felt like they were maybe too revealing. Then I saw Kim K’s glazed donut bum all over my Facebook page and I was like pffft who cares about a little shoulder?
So the story behind this citrus dress is that I desperately wanted something bombshell to wear to my friend’s wedding in the summer. This BCBG stunner was on sale and exactly the impulse purchase I needed to make. At the wedding, I noticed a woman wearing something that looked familiar, only to realize that it was my exact dress, but in coral. I did the old “nice dress” with a wink and a gun and we had a laugh. Then, she said, “Why are you wearing a mother of the bride dress?” and I stared at her with a blank expression. WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN? Do I look like a mom in this? Because pretty sure my cab driver asked me if I was old enough to have a driver’s license a few weeks ago. Life is so confusing. Anyway, I still love this green dress and was happy that even though I couldn’t move, due to overheating, it was still nice to get another wear out of it in Kauai.

I walked into a store wearing this very outfit the other day and happened to be sweater twinsies with the sales associate. Turns out, we both believe in love…and Old Navy prices. While we’re on the topic of this look, we must take a moment to discuss these Adriana Mavi Gold denim. They seemed okay in the fitting room, so I went for it, which tends to be a gamble (I do the same thing with shoes and they sometimes end up being too small because I trick myself in stores). But, guess what? They just so happen to still be comfortable and flattering! So, I’m pretty sure they’re made of magic dust. Well done, Mavi!
Off to go enjoy more of this amazing sunshine! Hope you’re having a great week xo
Sometimes I want to come across as polished and professional. Some days my hair is greasy, my jeans are ripped, and I’m like heck yes – it’s all about that grunge. PS if you want to feel extra nostalgic for the 90’s, we had a blast playing this music trivia game the other night!
Speaking of that crazy fiancĂ© of mine, it’s actually Adam’s 30th Birthday today! Which means that I should probably go and pay attention to him. We’re off to a brunch and then maybe an adventure, since it’s such a beautiful Vancouver day 🙂 Hope your week is off to a great start!

You can’t even imagine the weird events that transpired for us to get these photos. It involved a man with a gun and Alex and I trying to get away as fast as possible and her car not starting. Then the alarm blaring as gunman sat right beside our vehicle. We did eventually get the alarm off, car started, and out of that crazy situation, but man Gastown can be such a sketchy place. The photos were worth it though, right? This particular wall reminds me a lot of Manchester, which I was lucky enough to see while visiting the Boohoo team last year! Nothing like a little walk down travel memory lane on a dreary, rainy day like today. Hope you’re having a great Monday my darlings xx

Though, I must say that I use the term lightly. Southlands Nursery is in the city and we should have known that we weren’t going to be entering a pumpkin patch in the traditional sense. It was basically a garden with some pumpkins strewn around on the ground. The kids seemed to love it though and we honestly still had a blast. It’s always fun getting bundled up and doing fun fall activities!
Wishing you all a very Happy Halloween! xo
I spent the ENTIRE day yesterday cleaning out my closet (cue my lame, dad joke worthy rendition of Eminem’s Cleanin out My Closet) and let me tell you, it was my Everest. At one point I was sitting in a sea of shoes, staring over at a queen size bed covered by a mound of clothes that needed sorting and I thought about running away forever. I, as you can imagine, persevered and can now boast a large assortment of goods that need to be sold (I’m looking at you, kids) and a totally organized wardrobe. My suitcase is finally totally unpacked and I swapped all my summer clothes for those winter sweaters and scarves. Which, is always like shopping your own stuff. “Oh wow, forgot about this” moments were happening at every turn. There were a couple try ons, but mostly, I was just gross and dusty. Point being, I had to take my white trousers out for one last spin post-Labour Day before they were shoved into a bin for 8 months without the light of day. I really adore the idea of standing out amongst all the dark greys and black hues with this combination of light neutrals. Plus, these new Miz Mooz booties are just everything.
On another note, I must also give a quick shoutout to my friend Jen, who launched a heart print to help raise money for breast cancer awareness month. The prints are just $20 and 100% of the proceeds go to The Breast Cancer Society of Canada. More info and how to purchase are here!
