Abbotsford Tulip Festival

I’ve gone flower crazy and I simply will not apologize for it!  A visit to the Abbotsford Tulip Festival with Alex was such a spirit lifter.  How do you stand amongst rows and rows of beautiful blooms and not smile (no matter how many times you almost slip and fall in the mud)?!  We ventured out before first light to catch the sunrise.  And of course, just like last year, there was no such thing!  It was still really nice being there before the crowds and the cloud coverage was beautiful for photos.  I even remembered rubber boots this time around and managed to avoid the garden snake that slithered past Alex.  It was a great morning!

Besides the Tulip Fest, which is unfortunately now closed, there’s lots of cute places to explore around Abbotsford.  I had plenty of time to discover what Abby has to offer, since I found my wedding dress at Champagne and Lace and returned to the area many, many times for fittings, etc.  I’ve listed some of my favourite spots below, be sure to let me know if you have any places/activities to add to the list!

Duft & Co. Bakehouse | 103 – 2636 Montrose Ave.

Sweet treat heaven!  You cannot go wrong ordering at Duft & Co, everything is absolutely delightful. I recommend getting something to eat and then ordering a little something extra to take home.

Spruce Collective | 2622 Montrose Ave.

It’s only a few doors down from Duft, and there’s no way you’ll miss their fun offerings that spill out onto the front porch.  This adorable store is always chalk full of the best gift ideas or cute little items screaming “buy me” whether you actually need them or not.  After you visit the store, don’t forget to (carefully) run across the street to The Market by Spruce Collective, which is an entire store of gorgeous vintage furniture and trinkets.  I have found some really special gems for our home there!

Field House Brewing | 2281 W Railway St.

Stop in to Field House for a tasting and some eats.  Their interior decor is definite goals, and I loved grabbing a few growlers for Adam and an extra as a gift.  If it’s a sunny day, their outside area has tables and even a bean bag toss, and is the perfect place to sit and enjoy your cold brew.

Oldhand Coffee | 2617 Pauline St.

We always grab one more coffee for the road at Oldhand.  It’s a really cute little space and they make a mean Americano!
