All Photography is by Shari and Mike. For a complete list of vendors/credits, scroll to the bottom of this post. This is a continuation of my post about our rehearsal dinner.
I truly thought it’d feel like Christmas morning on August 15th, but I woke up to a text that the beautifying team had arrived and everything felt rather ordinary (not that I normally have a hair stylist and makeup artist greet me in the morning). Adam stirred a little and we smiled at each other and declared that we were getting married that day, as if neither of us had realized. I made my way to the main house, a steady stream of light raindrops creating a serene soundtrack for those rolling green valley views. There was a perfect sense of calm in the house that remained there for the entire morning. It felt like we had forever to get ready, so I tried to savour every moment. We drank coffee and laughed in our matching floral robes. We listened to 90’s pop/rock and everyone else in the house made cameo appearances to check in on our progress. We had all the time in the world until, of course, we didn’t. Suddenly the photographer and videographer were there and it was time to get into the dress, and then it was game on.
There are few words that could adequately describe the rest of August 15th. The wedding was so largely anticipated, that Adam and I were running on pure adrenaline. It was truly our greatest accomplishment as a couple, having (almost) everyone we adore surrounding us, offering their support and encouragement. We could literally feel the love from everyone, and it made for this incredible natural high. A lifetime of building friendships and nurturing relationships and the results were all together in this one place, celebrating us. It consumes and overwhelms you in the most amazing way.
Adam. I promise to laugh everyday with you. To always have a sense of adventure, and to communicate fully and fearlessly. I will support you. We will continue to work as a team. Let’s remember to have fun and forever be willing to try. I give you my heart and I pledge my love, devotion, and kindness. I vow to to remain best friends, no matter what. And I promise to be okay with the fact that I’ll likely lose my hearing at a young age from your loud voice. I love you and I take you to be my partner in crime for life.
Alicia. I promise to laugh everyday with you. To always have a sense of adventure, and to communicate fully and fearlessly. I will support you. We will continue to work as a team. Let’s remember to have fun and forever be willing to try. I give you my heart and I pledge my love, devotion, and kindness. I vow to remain best friends, no matter what. And I promise to discard any sense of time because you will forever make us late for everything. I love you and I take you to be my partner in crime for life.
I know I’m slightly biased, but it was perfect, even the things that didn’t go as planned. Different groups of friends and family merging together. There were so many big, head back, mouth gaping open, deep belly laughs. Every speech was remarkably unique to the speaker and a perfect toast to the past 8 years. And the dance floor. The dance floor was the party of my dreams. It was a combination of everything coming together for this one, beyond comparable day. I’m still full of gratitude to every single person who was there, and to those sending their best wishes from afar. You all made our wedding extraordinary and for that, we’re forever thankful. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to start our marriage.

Beautiful does your mum sell veils?
She does not, but that’s definitely an idea for the future. I can try to put together a how to make your own veil tutorial in the meantime?! And thank you for saying that, she will be SO honoured to know that someone thought so highly of her work 🙂 xoxo
